When "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" first aired in 1997, nobody seriously thought it was going to generate uch a huge buzz and be to foundation of a show that has been cited several times as one of the 100 greatest television programs of all-time. Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny (Voiced by creators Stone and Parker) have gone on to mock clebrities without prejudice and attempted to touch every exposed social nerve possible for 14 seasons.
In South Park, there is no taboo - everyone is fair game. Even with the paper cut style animation, South Park has spawned a movie, a triology (Imagination land), and merchandising revenue to rival any televeision franchise. As a matter of fact, South park is still to thid day credited with being the show that made Comedy Central a relevant network and opened the door for most of its current cutting edge programming.
